CHRIS LEWIT is an author, high-performance coach, creator, and interdisciplinary scholar whose writing examines tennis, sports science, human performance, health and wellness, fitness, and longevity. He studied literature and religion at Cornell, Harvard, and Columbia, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in kinesiology with a specialization in biomechanics and motor learning.
He is the author of The Secrets of Spanish Tennis (New Chapter) and Winning Pretty (West River), and has a fitness and longevity book with Chelsea Green/Rizzoli. His work has been published in the ITF Coaching & Sport Science Review, and he has been a longtime contributing editor to Tennisplayer Magazine. He has been featured on NPR’s national programming, and interviewed by the BBC and China People’s Daily.
Chris also maintains a substantial digital platform through his YouTube channels, Tennis Evolution and Chris Lewit, where his educational content on tennis, training, and performance reaches more than 122,000 subscribers worldwide. In addition to his work as a writer and creator, he is a practicing high-performance tennis coach who has developed many No. 1 juniors in the United States, grounding his writing and research in daily, hands-on experience at the highest levels of performance coaching.
He is also deeply committed to public service. Chris comes from a long line of military family members and has served his local community for many years as a volunteer first responder.
